Head to the pretty Round Valley to visit the unique town of Covelo. Located in the northern inlands region of Mendocino County, Covelo is proud of its artistic community. Boasting a few dozen talented artists who specialize in a number of different media - from ceramics and basket-making to painting and Japanese textiles - Covelo is one of the most cultural towns in the county and the perfect place to stop and purchase local specialties or a fun stop for gallery-browsing.

The Round Valley Community Theater presents a host of plays all year long including a few that are designed specifically for children. The town is rich in music as well, with groups that perform everything from rock to bluegrass and all genres in between.

There's a rich Native American presence in Covelo as there has been for centuries, and if you're lucky you'll be in town for the annual Indian Days Celebration.

Indian Days isn't the only festival held in Covelo. The people here love to celebrate. You'll also find a fall Harvest Festival, a spring time Blackberry Festival, and the annual Round Valley Community Rodeo.

Nature lovers can visit the Yolla Bolly Wilderness along the Eel River, a protected area that is rich in local flora and fauna.
