Through the Viewfinder: Mendocino Landscapes
Several of the photographers exhibiting their works in Grace Hudson Museum's current exhibition, "Through the Viewfinder: Mendocino Landscapes," will discuss modern photography in all its aspects during a panel discussion on Sunday, January 17. The discussion, which will take place at 2 p.m. in the museum's Public Room, will be free to the public and will be followed with refreshments.
The photographers, all masters of their crafts, will discuss current trends in photography, the differences between film-based and digital processes, and the various considerations involved in black and white versus color imaging. At press time the following artists had made firm commitments to participate in the panel: Peter W. Stearns of Ukiah (film, color), Tom Liden of Comptche and Ukiah (digital, color and sepia), Bill Brazill of Mendocino (film, black-and-white), and Jon Klein of Mendocino (digital, color). Rita Crane of Albion (digital, color) may also join the panel.
The "Through the Viewfinder" exhibition will continue at the Museum through February 7, 2010. Grace Hudson Museum is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday, from 10-4:30 and Sunday, 12–4:30. It is located at 431 S. Main St., behind the Sun House, Grace and John Hudson's historic home.
