About Cleone
Just above the large city of Fort Bragg on the rugged North Coast, you'll find the town of Cleone. Its name is Greek for 'gracious and beautiful', which certainly describes this tiny municipality.

Cleone is the gateway to MacKerricher State Park, which is a favorite stop for visitors to this region of the county. This oceanfront park boasts incredible scenery and nature lovers spend time here hiking, horseback riding, and camping. The park contains a variety of habitats including beach, bluff, headland, dune, forest and wetland. During the winter and spring, the area is a favorite spot for avid whale watchers. Two fresh-water lakes provide great opportunities for trout fishing as well.

In addition to campsites, those wishing to stay in Cleone will find a few small but pristine inns with less than a dozen rooms each.
