Things To Do During Your Stay
There's some debate on what there is to do at The Sea Ranch. Many regular visitors insist that the beauty of the place lies in the fact that there's absolutely nothing to do here. This inspires people to change their patterns, shift into lower gear, slow down and rediscover the natural world, their partners, and themselves. At the same time, there is plenty to do here to occupy the mind and the body, and to experience this area to its fullest. I hope you will consider this partial list and also consider what to bring when you visit the beautiful North Coast.

Year Round Activities
Hiking - Guests of the Sea Ranch Lodge may use any of the 50 miles of hiking trails right outside your doors at The Sea Ranch. These trails meander through the coastal meadows and conifer forests, unique architecture and natural features of the site. The most prominent is the Bluff Trail, which begins at the Lodge and runs along the coast line 8+ miles, ending at the Gualala Regional Park, the northernmost coastal point in Sonoma County. Within a few minutes driving are trails to local beaches, and Salt Point State Park, with more breathtaking coastal trails to explore. Sea Ranch locals have a weekly hiking group called "Hikes for Health", which Lodge guests are welcome to join in.
Bird Watching - If you are a "birder," you will find many species right outside your doorstep. Many residents of The Sea Ranch are avid naturalists and maintain lists of area sightings. The Lodge is an active participant in local efforts to preserve habitat and monitor bird populations. Click here for a list of species that have been sighted on The Sea Ranch.
Wine Tasting - The Sonoma Coast Appellation is known for producing some of the world's finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Here on the true Sonoma Coast, there are many vineyards and few tasting rooms. However, wine tasting options abound. Begin with some selections from our restaurant's award winning wine list, which focuses solely on wines from Sonoma and Mendocino counties.
