Irrigated pastures, a dressage arena, covered arena, and a cross country course are among the facilities offered on our 75 acre ranch. Happy horses and riders are our priority.Boarding and Training
Our facility encompasses 75 acres with irrigated pastures and shelters, ideal for retirees and lay-ups. Box stalls and individual covered corrals are also available. Horses taken for training with 24-hour care. We have a dressage arena, covered arena, and beginner level cross-country course.
Novice and intermediate riders concentrate on learning to use their seat and legs correctly. We work on dressage principles, with gymnastic exercises for suppling the rider, and also horse suppling exercises, to build knowledge and confidence. More advanced riders work on collection, lengthening, and some lateral movements, as well as being able to ride a dressage test, from Training to Third level as appropriate to your experience. Riders have the opportunity of riding different horses and learning how to correct and improve the horse's way of going. Lunge lessons are also offered for both beginner and advanced riders so the riders can work strictly on themselves. You can hack on our riding track or try cross-country, perhaps for the first time. We take trips to shows and to school other cross country courses.
Our focus is individual attention and learning correctly and safely in a beautiful environment.
Boarding rates start at $185.00 per month for pasture with shelter. Individual corrals and box stalls are available in the winter and for short term in the summer at additional cost. We are situated approximately 100 miles north of San Francisco on a beautiful ranch of 75 acres, close to Highway 101. Instruction is offered by British Horse Society qualified staff based on Pony Club principles.
Adult Riding Camps
Adults can come to camp too, for a week or a weekend. Enjoy the dream of having your horses 'at home' on our 75 irrigated acres without hassle. Fall asleep by starlight, listening to the horses as they graze in the pasture; awake to morning birdsongs. Experience individual and intensive training while at the same time enjoying the informal friendly environment. Bring your horse or try ours.

For the weekly camps riders will ride 2 times per day most days, and can go swimming, perhaps visit a winery, or just relax. There is emphasis on horse care, including a variety of subjects, such as nutrition, bandaging, preparing a horse for a show, minor ailments and hoof care, and more. We encourage campers to ask if there is something specific they would like to work on or learn about. These camps are ideal for beginner riders wanting some intensive training in an informal environment.
Beginners starting from the ground up are welcome. More advanced students can work on dressage and jumping techniques and enjoy the challenge of the cross-country course. The week culminates in a Horse Show, so there is plenty of fun for everyone. Campers are encouraged to help each other and to form a solid team.
What is new on the cross-country course?
We are continually upgrading our cross country course to include features such as a water complex and several more challenging jumps for the more experienced rider, while at the same time keeping our introductory jumps the same to make sure that all riders have a fun and safe experience. We now have the pond area cleared of blackberries and there will be several jumps around it and even through it! Another new item will be a track suitable for galloping or for a nice hack. Because of the small groups we are able to give personalized attention for every camper, even when the group contains different skill levels.
What are the accommodations like?
Campers sleep on cots in cabin-like tents, two campers per tent. Indoor showers and bathrooms are available. For adults wishing more luxurious accommodations, we can recommend several nearby inns. Accommodations within the main house are available on a limited basis for an additional $50 per week.
What is the daily schedule like?
All campers ride twice a day. The Adult camps have more flexible schedules depending upon the interests of the group.
