Four Seasons Of Weather In Mendocino County

The overall temperature in Mendocino County is very mild due to the fact that it is located on the north coast of California where the Pacific Ocean just doesn't allow for very hot or cold weather. The coastal temperatures remain in the 60's, with summers occasionally jumping to the mid 70's and winters dropping down to the low 50's. However, the inland county will get much warmer, with temperatures rising to the 90's and above at times.

Anderson Valley Summers
Though most people travel to the coast in the summer, a better place to head is to the Anderson Valley or the Ukiah and Willits inlands. The nice warm weather is just perfect for a dip in the crystal clear rivers, lakes, and creeks that dot the county.

Winter Weather
If you are searching for snow in the winters of Mendocino, you might be disappointed. Most of the county is protected by the mild Pacific Ocean and low elevation mountain ranges. However, from time to time, the county is blessed with a white blanket of snow. If you are looking for a winter getaway, the coast can be a nice place from where to watch the winter ocean storms, but be sure you check the road conditions before you leave.

Fall on the Mendocino Coast
If you are considering the perfect time to come to the coast, there can be no better time to visit than autumn. Most of the time on the coast, you will find fog, but in the fall we get that much- deserved break from the clouds, which allows for the sun to shine strong, revealing one of the most gorgeous locations on the planet.

Spring time Botanicals
The weather in Mendocino during spring time can be very unpredictable. You might get a wonderful early summer day or you could experience an unexpected winter storm. It is always a good idea to check the 10-day forecast before you make any major plans, such as a wedding.
